Granite City Greenway

View Trail Map The Ararat River Greenway is a pleasant, hard surface trail in Mt. Airy, NC. The trail gets its name from the Ararat River, and was part of an initiative to restore the waterway with the twin goals of improving water quality and increasing recreational opportunities for residents. The trail meanders alongside the river from Riverside Park to Tharrington Park. The trail connects to two schools, three parks (including the H.B Rowe Environmental Park) and at its southern end you can access to the Emily B. Taylor Greenway via a recently built connector trail.
