Best B&B in “Mayberry” and One of the best in the USA Crysti and Brian are the new owners and operators of Heart and Soul B&B for just 2 months. My wife and I have been staying here several times a year over the past 8 years. We came to celebrate our 48th anniversary and found that Crysti and Brian are maintaining the building and keeping the positive experience established by Pam and Chris the past owners and builders of this great relaxing location. Crysti also maintained a great breakfast that carries us through the day. In addition, Crysti and Brian are adding some nice new touches to the decor and offerings. Most important is the most relaxing porch where we can watch walkers, joggers, squad car and just enjoy the beauty of the area. Date of stay: April 2024

A Wonderful Weekend We spent 2 nights here in the Coventry Suite in April 2024. The Coventry was a very comfortable room, with a relaxing jacuzzi. We were treated to wonderful breakfasts and also enjoyed drinks in the afternoon on the wrap-around porch. Christy and Bryan are super friendly hosts. Of course, we also had a great time visiting the attractions around historic Mt. Airy. Date of stay: April 2024

Plan to return! We really enjoyed meeting the new owner Crysti (we did not meet her husband). We loved the Inn, the little surprises (our own coffee urn ready each morning outside our room, cookies as a thank-you treat, special toiletries, extra towels, etc.), the conversations, and the breakfasts. In fact, we decided to stay one more night instead of one night as originally planned. The breakfasts were the best we've had at a B&B. Mount Airy was a fun town which was a wonderful surprise and another reason to stay. Date of stay: March 2024

Perfection!!! This is within walking distance of downtown Mt Airy. We stayed in the Merritt Suite on the first floor. This was the most beautiful bedroom with great detail. The bathroom has a claw foot tub, double vanity, and huge walk in shower. The 9:00 am breakfast consisted of a breakfast casserole, fresh fruit, apple muffin, bacon, baked spinach, canadian bacon and egg, roasted potatoes, juice and coffee. The conversion with other guest was fun and informative. The host are now new friends. We will be back!! Date of stay: February 2024

Excellent NC getaway Such a perfect stay at Heart &Soul! Crysti & Brian are wonderful hosts and we loved the personal touches that included 5 star breakfasts, excellent suggestions on Mayberry activities, and the cozy accommodations. A 24-Hour Mount Airy Pit Stop A family trip from Florida to Virginia, stopping in Mount Airy for a quick, relaxing break in the home town of Andy Griffith, enabled us to stay at Heart & Soul for a very relaxing evening. Greeted by Chrysti, it was only a couple blocks walk into downtown where we had a delicious dinner at her recommended restaurant, the Northstate Winery. The next morning, she prepared what I can only describe as an absolutely fabulous breakfast. I'd give it a 20 on a scale of 1-10. We stayed in the Mt. Airy Suite, which is awesome and sleeping in there is like sleeping in a train museum. The next morning we rode a local trolly ($20) touring the town, providing great overview on Andy's life, family and friends. Where did "Mayberry" come from? I'm not saying. You'll have to come here to find out. You can walk by Floyd's barber shop and still get a haircut and later stop by Wally's gas station, though Wally, Gomer & Goober have moved into TV Land in the Sky--and tour the replica jail (free) right there next to Wally's. A Premier B & B This is a wonderful, top of the line B & B. We stayed here two nights while we visited the Andy Griffith hometown attractions. The house itself is beautiful and decorated with the detail you would expect in a Victorian style B & B. Each room is decorated according to a theme. We stayed in one of the first floor rooms modeled after a passenger train. The decorative details are amazing. We spent hours on the large wraparound porch on comfortable chairs, drinking wine, talking, or reading. The new owners are very welcoming and personable. Crysti has the ultimate innkeeper personality - so warm, outgoing, and helpful. The breakfast is INCREDIBLE. Crysti also definitely has the gift of making gourmet style food that is absolutely delicious. This B & B is a real value when you consider the reasonable cost charged for what you get! Can't wait to return! What an incredible getaway! My husband and I have stayed at dozens of bed and breakfasts over the years. This one was, by far, the most special. Every detail is so well thought out. Brian and Crysti do everything possible to make you feel comfortable and exceedingly pampered. Crysti's cooking is phenomenal.
